Chapter #6 Fall Rally in Holland

To all rally attendees - - information you need before you set off for Holland.
1. There are no full hookups at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds. There is a dump station and many 30A & 50A plugs plus water. There are no designated sites.    The electric and water hookups are in about 15 clusters around the Fairgrounds. Our parking crew will be parking everyone as usual. Some folks will need to use  extension cords and extra water hose to reach the hookups. As usual, the best locations near the elec & water hookups will go to the 1st arrivals on Tuesday and Wednesday. Later arrivals will need the extension cords and extra water hose.
2. There is major construction going on on U.S. 31. The whole road is being torn up & replaced. That means that it is somewhat difficult to get to the Ottawa County Fairgrounds using U.S. 31. We suggest using the following routes:
        A. Coming from the north, southbound on U.S. 31:  The right hand lane will take you off at Lakewood Blvd.  About 1 mile west on Lakewood, Lakewood turns to the right. DO NOT TURN. Continue straight ahead - - road name changes to Douglas Ave.  Continue west on Douglas Ave. As you cross Division Ave, name changes to Ottawa Beach Rd.. Continue west to Ottawa County Fairgrounds (Address: 1286 Ottawa Beach Rd.)
        B. Coming from the south, northbound on U.S. 31 - - 2 options:
a. Shortest - - get off U.S. 31 at exit 47b and follow Business 31/Bus 196 north into Holland. You will be on Washington Ave, then Michigan Ave. and eventually you will be on S. River Rd. Continue through downtown Holland on S. River Rd. to Douglas Ave. (Do not turn right when Bus 31 turns at 9th St.).  Turn left on Douglas and continue west to the Ottawa County Fairgrounds.
                        b. To avoid going through downtown - - continue north on U.S. 31 to 8th Ave. Turn right (east) on 8th Ave. Go only a few hundred feet to 1st traffic light (Waverly Rd.) Turn left (north) on Waverly (name changes to 120th Avenue) to Lakewood Blvd (2nd traffic light). Turn left (west) on Lakewood and head west to the Ottawa County Fairgrounds. (See “Coming from the north” above for road name changes)
                C. Coming from the east, westbound on I-196:  Get off I-196 at exit 55 (Business 196) and continue west to 112th Ave. Turn right (north) on 112th Ave (see “Fairgrounds” sign) and go only a few hundred feet to Lakewood Blvd (See “Ottawa County Fairgrounds“ sign). Turn left (west) on Lakewood Blvd and continue west to the Ottawa County Fairgrounds. (See “Coming from the north” above for road name changes)

See you next week in Holland!  We look forward to a great rally with rally hosts Greg & Kathy Reed and Bill Daines.
