History

Escapees RV Club - Chapter #6 - Michigan Area Chartered on September 9,1984, Great Lakes Chapter #6 now averages 150 member families. Our Geographic area is the state of Michigan; however, we are proud to have members from all over the country. We are very committed to the Escapee philosophy of “Caring and Sharing”. We pride our selves on leading the way in gathering donations for the Escapee’s CARE program. Check the Upcoming Rallies in the Pages menu below.

Note: You DO NOT have to be a member of Escapees RV Club to attend up to 3 of our events. This gives you a chance to check us out before committing to a membership.

A Michigan Quilt

Chapter 6 is planning to make a Michigan quilt! Every block will pertain to Michigan. All members are welcome to make one (or more) quilt block(s). Each block is to be a 12 ½ inch square. If your block uses background fabric, use white. Please do not take your design to the very edge of the square as we will have to join all the blocks. A 1/4 inch boarder is needed for seam allowances. Fabric should be 100% cotton.

The blocks can be pieced, embroidered, appliquéd or any other quilting application you would like to use. Please email Judy or Ruth with your block idea. So far, we have been promised:

· MICHIGAN

· MICHIGAN STATE

· Kellogg Cereal of Battle Creek

· Mackinac Bridge block

Please bring your completed block to the Tri-Rally in Coldwater, MI (June 18-21, 2015). We will begin to sew the blocks together at the rally. If you cannot attend the Tri-Rally, please mail your block to Judy Woodham, (522 Hampton Lake Drive, Essexville, MI 48732).

The quilt will be auctioned off at a future Great Lakes Chapter 6 rally.

Activities

We share in hosting a joint rally with chapters 36 & 51 in June of each year. We also hold rallies in July and September somewhere in the state of Michigan and we have an informal gathering in Quartzsite Arizona each January at the beginning of the Annual Quartzsite RV Show. And a luncheon in Foley Alabama each January.

We make every effort to be represented on Chapter Row at each Escapade.

We believe that Escapee’s Chapter #6 is your extended family. We do our best to make everyone welcome and comfortable at all of our activities.

We also publish a newsletter (Shorelines) three times a year to keep our members informed of events and activities.

While you do not have to be a member of Chapter 6 to participate in any of our activities, you do have to be a member to receive our newsletter in the mail.
