Michigan Quilt

A Michigan Quilt

Chapter 6 is planning to make a Michigan quilt!  Every block will pertain to Michigan.  All members are welcome to make one (or more) quilt block(s). Each block is to be a 12 ½ inch square.  If your block uses background fabric, use white.  Please do not take your design to the very edge of the square as we will have to join all the blocks.  A 1/4 inch boarder is needed for seam allowances.  Fabric should be 100% cotton.

The blocks can be pieced, embroidered, appliquéd or any other quilting application you would like to use.  Please email Judy or Ruth with your block idea.  So far, we have been promised:

·         MICHIGAN

·         MICHIGAN STATE

·         Kellogg Cereal of Battle Creek

·         Mackinac Bridge block

Please bring your completed block to the Tri-Rally in Coldwater, MI (June 16-19, 2015). We will begin to sew the blocks together at the rally.  If you cannot attend the Tri-Rally, please mail your block to Judy Woodham, (522 Hampton Lake Drive, Essexville, MI 48732).

The quilt will be auctioned off at a future Great Lakes Chapter 6 rally.

Tri-Chapter Rally - first info

SUBJECT: Tri-Chapter Rally
You are cordially invited to attend the Tri-Chapter (6, 36, & 51) to be held June 18 -21, 2015 in Coldwater, Michigan at the Branch County Fairgrounds.

Plans for the Rally are being made by Fred & Betty Lou Hicks, Bob Jones & Daryl Herrmann, members of Chapter 6.

Tentative plans include a bike ride and a night to celebrate your favorite baseball team. So plan to bring a bike and pack your favorite baseball team jersey or cap.

*Food Bank Poker Game: For each item you bring for donation to the local food bank, you will receive a playing card. Best hand wins the prize. Your Five (5) best cards make a good hand.
Items can be personal care things (soap, tooth paste, toilet paper, etc) non perishable items, laundry products, etc. Dollar stores offer a large variety of items that will work.

IT IS OK TO ARRIVE EARLY AND STAY AFTER THE RALLY.
