History

Escapees RV Club - Chapter #6 - Michigan Area Chartered on September 9,1984, Great Lakes Chapter #6 now averages 150 member families. Our Geographic area is the state of Michigan; however, we are proud to have members from all over the country. We are very committed to the Escapee philosophy of “Caring and Sharing”. We pride our selves on leading the way in gathering donations for the Escapee’s CARE program. Check the Upcoming Rallies in the Pages menu below.

40th Anniversary August 22,23,24, 2024; Ionia Free Fair, 317 Dexter St, Ionia, Mi. 48846

RSVP by August 13 if you are going to attend the Anniversary catered dinner, there is no cost for the dinner but we will need to know the number of dinner reservations for the caterer. Please do not assume that you can just show up for the dinner without the RSVP to Mike Foley. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT !

the camp fee is $35.00 per day and a registration fee of $10.00 per attendee for the Rally. The Floral building has been rented for our three day rally.

Registration forms and the agenda will be available on arrival Thursday August 22, 2024. The registration will open at 3pm prior to the 4pm Social hour.

NOTE-we will have a miss match "clothing" dress up for the dinner party.

Roger Ferguson has made a wonderful 40th Anniversary pin for the attending members. The cost will be noted at the Thursday Social Hour.

Please bring a SILENT AUCTION item and the proceeds will go to the CARE Facility.

Judy Woodhams will be leading a trail bicycle ride so bring your bike and helmet !

United States Flag Retirement ceremony will be held so bring your old tattered American Flag !

Activities

We share in hosting a joint rally with chapters 36 & 51 in June of each year. We also hold rallies in July and September somewhere in the state of Michigan and we have an informal gathering in Quartzsite Arizona each January at the beginning of the Annual Quartzsite RV Show. And a luncheon in Foley Alabama each January.

We make every effort to be represented on Chapter Row at each Escapade.

We believe that Escapee’s Chapter #6 is your extended family. We do our best to make everyone welcome and comfortable at all of our activities.

We also publish a newsletter (Shorelines) three times a year to keep our members informed of events and activities.

While you do not have to be a member of Chapter 6 to participate in any of our activities, you do have to be a member to receive our newsletter in the mail.
