On Thursday the 10th, we have arranged for a group tour of the Country Dairy in nearby New
Era. The tour cost is $7.00 per person and consists of a guided tour of a working dairy farm and milk processing facility, part of which will be by tour wagon to see the cows, how they are milked & how the milk is bottled. At the close of the tour, you can sample their famous Premium Chocolate Milk or try some of what they call "Moochies" (cheddar cheese curds).

On Friday the 11th, we will visit the Shelby Gem factory in Shelby. From their website, "We make more varieties of Synthetic and Imitation Gems than anyone else on Earth! And we do it in the USA!" Although insurance regulations no longer allow them to provide factory tours, we will experience an informal lecture by the owner of the company in a comfortable auditorium where he will tell us all about the manufacturing process. Samples of their products will be available for pass around and inspection.
On Saturday the 12th, an Apple Fest and BBQ Cook Off Festival will be held in nearby Silver
Lake. The Festival includes, in addition to the BBQ cook-off competition, a Craft Show, Classic Auto & Truck Show, Dune Buggy Show, Live entertainment & Great Food!

For your planning purposes, we would like each of you to rummage through your files and come up with a picture of yourself taken as a young child, preferably prior to the age of 3. We will display these pictures on a board and see if you can name "Who's That Cute Baby?" Bring the picture with you to Hart if you have not already given it to Anna Craw.
See you all in Hart in September!
